A strike is a formal flag within the Instant Funding framework. Strikes can be issued for multiple reasons – not just floating drawdown breaches – and they accumulate across all of them regardless of the cause.
A strike can be issued for any of the following:
Notional volume breach – exceeding the permitted notional volume limit on your account
Floating drawdown breach – exceeding the 1.5% threshold after your first formal warning
Weekend holding – keeping a position open over the weekend without an active Weekend Holding Add-On
You are allowed up to 4 strikes on your account. On your 5th strike, your account will be closed.
Important: For floating drawdown specifically, only one strike is issued per instrument and trade combination. If an open position continues to move against you, you will not receive multiple strikes for the same trade. A new floating drawdown strike can only be triggered by a new breach on a separate trade or instrument.
